Good Minecraft add-ons?

There are several paid Minecraft addons in the Windows store, yes have got the windows version of Minecraft, how do I find out which ones are any good?

Anyone tried and have recommendations?

Are the FtB launchers and all that not able to work with the Windows version? If they cost money is it not cheaper to buy the proper version and use all the free packs etc. theres probably much more content

Its only for java MC afaik, however once you go modded MC, vanilla just isn't the same.
