Not much criteria but.

Travelling march 2024, it might be cold to normal people but not us reindeer herders.

Price conscious..... A good balance between rating, location, and cost.
3 står probably, breakfast Inc but not deal-breaker

When we travel we basically use the room and hotel as a base. Amenities on site unimportant. Pools gyms etc. Meh.
Location to a subway probably the key.

That means it doesn't have to be in Manhattan. But for a good price deffo take it.
Private bathroom must
Charmless Chain hotels are fine.

Price i guess is key

Less than 20k krona which about 1500 quid.

Doable for ten days? 8 days maybe ?

That seems to be the going rate tbh.
I always like trying to find a bargain or little bit qwirky but I think this will just have to be. With 2k on flights 2k on hotels 2k on tips and 2k spending gonna hurt :p 2k on tips was hopefully a joke.

Who are you guys flying with?

We obviously chose SAS direct from Stockholm... It's a few hundred cheaper than from Gatwick or Heathrow.....

I liked the look of Norse air, old Norwegian, but it's not even cheap on premium economy.

Flights got very meh.

early April

Im updating this for myself and starting to get a few "things to do" together"

We ending up booking a hotel just across the Hudson in New Jersey. $200 a night for a "decent" by my standard 3 star? modern hotel.

Hyatt House New Jersey Tripadvisor

You get a lot more room for your $ but the inconvenience/advantage? is not slap bang in town and only a quick ride on the PATH to World trade center or the other way upto 33rd street. Then you can connect to whatever you want.

We also have a "Day trip" to Washington DC 3h on the train... not too bad.... See all the regular sights and Smithsonian aerospace museum for a couple of hours lol back home on a 8pm train... Gonna be very long day....

Booked a couple of shows.

Back to the future the musical..... (for me) Could be good? and Harry potter and something something. Wife business, she **** herself with joy at doing this so who am i to say no :p

Bought a NYC pass 10days Probably going to go to pretty much everything on the list..... all the normal places..

Also going in April, that day pass for major attractions etc? I might get whatever pass there is for using the subway.

As for Back to the Future - I got a bargain priced ticket from a friend and went with him, it wasn't up there the likes of The Lion King/Wicked/Book of Mormon but I rather enjoyed it.

How early does the Washington train leave? Day trip to another city doesn't sound too bad especially with the temptation of visiting an aerospace museum.

The pass thing worked out at like $40 a day which is entry fee on 2 "bigger" things. it includes a hell of a lot of places. I don't think well have trouble getting value from it and it makes it a lot more prepaid, says u can skip queues etc, see if that's reality or not.

There's trains from 4am every 30 or so minutes... some are cheaper than others. Ranging from $15 each way into the $100s fro business class...

Thank you, I think we'll be near Grand Central Station (assuming that's where they depart) so an early start wouldn't be too difficult. >$30 to visit the capital and some sights is definitely growing on me. At this rate I'm going to need several more weeks to get through all of this :D.
Exactly.

I just hope the weathers alright because to see all the things i want to means a long days walking between stuff.

We've got a hotel now in jersey city right near exchange place path and 10 min from Hoboken.

We'll be riding a train to and fro but that's fine. It's super convenient for loads of other longer distance stuff we got planned like a trip to Washington DC.

It's same price as a time square shoe box but 3/4 stars :p
