Just had a email from Shropshire Council that booking to go to the tip has been stopped - Back to pop in when you like --Yipppeeee.
We used to fill boot -go to tip and then on to do the shopping. Havn't been to the tip since booking started -Absolute PITA.
 
I'm with OP, hate the booking system. Who plans when they go to the tip down to the exact minute? I want the flexibility of going when the car is full of whatever it needs to be full of, which is typically highly variable based on the jobs and stuff I'm in the middle of doing.
 
Seems like there is a lot more people wherever you are - We only got a few cars in front of us -if there was more than that we just turned round -did shopping and called in on way back.
It's also close to Screwfix and Toolstation so that was another opportunity to pop in.
 
Love the booking system, always can drive up and dump the stuff without queuing. I'm normally only going to the tip when I'm doing something big or at the end of it and its nice to know I'll definitely be able to get rid of stuff instead of it festering either back at home or in the car.

If they stop it here I'm going have to allow say an hour or 2 if not more for the tip run when doing a big job around the house.

Without the booking you also run the risk of there being to many visitors that day and the bins are full as they got more people than expected.
 
Hate the booking system. I'd book multiple days just to work around when i may do the run, and then not show up if i didn't manage to get enough rubbish and bits to chuck. There's a tip closer to me in a different district which i can't use, and all the car regs are recorded. Booking would be alright if it wasn't a 40min drive up and down crap roads.
