Good noise canceling cans?

Hi,

I'm in the process of helping my Mum sort out a Christmas present for my Dad. Hes asked for some Bose Quiet Comfort or similar, but they're expensive to say the least.

I have a set of Creative HN-700's which sit right at the other end of the price scale. They work, but aren't exactly the best quality in the world. I was wondering if there was anything else that was good and sat somewhere in the middle of the two.

Price is fairly flexible, so any suggestions are welcome

if its a main christmas present then some Shure SE110-N are one of the best out their. they are about £50 now.

Ive got the Shure SE210-N's for my xmas... got the ipod classic 80gb black as well. From the reviews Ive read about them they seem to be pretty good. £64.99.
