Good old Games

I thought it was called Steam?

Nice idea but they're basically just releasing old games on some sort of steam style site that probably won't work as well.

You need to read into the site a bit more to see why it might make a few quid.

Basically they are recoding games to make them Vista / XP compatible as the OP said.

Removing copy protection so you can install them where you want and on as many PC's as you want.

Charging pennies for the games.

Focussing on old classics (okay Steam has a few old classics on there but theyre not patched to work on newer OS's).

Good idea hope they get some decent games on there.

looks interesting, it's like a bargain bin Steam.

Will definitely keep an eye on it :)

Its a good idea but already if you look around you can get almost any game from the past 10 years to work on either XP or Vista using wrappers to emulate the gfx card.

This site has lots of tech tips on how to achieve this.

Damnit!

I came in here to pimp Starcraft, but that works fine on vista 64 bit because it wasn't coded by monkeys.

More luck of the draw. For a lot of programs that don't work anymore the coders were only guilty of not being able to see into the future with crazy mysical powers.

How legal is this? Are they going to the companies and getting permission for doing this? Or are they doing it assuming its 'abandonware', like sites like abandonia do?
