When I say "asian" I am being purposefully vague. I specifically want to get my hands on some kashmiri chilli powder, dried kashmiri chillies to help work through the Indian Kitchen cookbook I bought (brilliant so far, by the way) and then also some doubanjiang chili bean paste and yellow bean paste to try some sichuan recipes I've had my eye on.

Any one-stop shop for both? I did a search but couldn't find any links here...

I just put a thread like this, but of the two linked one was mostly out of stock of everything the other one temporarily shut down

google suggests an alternative to the kashmir chillis
A more suitable substitute would a mixture of paprika and cayenne pepper – about 3 parts paprika to 1 part cayenne. You can find this spice in any Indian grocery store and it may be sold under the following names: Kashmiri chili powder, Kashmiri mirch, degi mirch, deggi mirch, deghi mirch and similar variants.

or drive around the indian/pakistan/muslin areas of your city and look for the independent shops.

I have an intercontinental supermarket, Lebanese spice shop whatever Lebanese spices are and all kinds of weird strange places offering the ingredients of other cultures a few streets from where I live.
