Good or Bad?

I still want the floppy drives for consistancy, they cost the same amount of money I usually spend on lunch, and the £5 difference in sound cards is pretty much out of my control as the music edition isn't in stock :(

Valid :)

I'll post some pics off the stuff in its boxes when it arrives, understand my joy when leaping from a 2 year old sempron system to this.

nice to see your decision on the ram hasn't been swayed by a couple of people's bad experiences. geil are a good brand (admittedly i've only had standard ddr stuff). if you took note of every single person's problems with every brand, you'd be looking at an empty case..... :p

Rung home from work and the stuff's arrived, gotta wait till 6pm till I can get to it... agonizing :(

So it's all up and running now, but I'm worried about its condition. CPU's at 30c in the Bios, good/bad?

It's my first time applying such a massive heat sink, dunno whether its making good contact or not, jesus this Tuniq tower is houge.

It stays at 21-22c in Bios now I've set the fan to go full whack, but the system will eventually hang necessitating a manual reboot :/

That seems fine, unless you're running phase change/liquid nitrogen cooled. It shouldn't lock up at that temp, are you overclocking? (ie RAM)

No I wouldn't dare overclocking untill I've setup Windows, the stuff that's happening now is on a totally fresh untainted setup.

Question: 4 DDR2 memory banks, I'm using 2GB (x2 1GB sticks), do I put them next to each (yellow, red) other or both in the same coloured slots (yellow, yellow)? :/

Those temps are excellent, 55+ is where you start worrying.

Wheres it hanging, in the bios or in windows?

QFT. In fact you'd be looking at an empty space. :p

Check the board manual, it always says somewhere.

It was hanging in Bios, atm I'm just watching it in PC Health status waiting for it to happen again for clarity... I've not got the dvd drive or the floppy drive plugged in and the only F_Panel cable ive got in is the power switch - doesnt seem to have frozen yet :o

Everything's plugged in and I'm getting no display to the screen, all fans spin power going to everything, could this be a RAM problem? Last time I got no display signal to my old computer I just reseated the RAM, it's not doing anything with this.
