I visit the UK 3-4 times a year and am looking for a PAYG SIM which includes data, and which I can just top up as and when I need to. It would be fantastic if any credit I already have would not disappear for at least 3-6 months.

Any ideas? Many thanks

Tesco mobile.. Giff Gaff...O2

top up £15 and you get data bundled on. Giff Gaff is even better.

15 or nothing I wonder.

Depending how much you need just go ovivo and pay nothing

150m calls
250 texts
500mb data

You get that every month, all for seeing a 5second advert when you launch the browser.
If you use data on other apps, you don't see the advert.

You pay for the sim card, but that is added to your balance, so you can go outside your allowence.

i just did that tried to order a new SIM and it still charges me 15 quid..

Yep, it goes on to your crieidt and you get a monthly allowence, far better than giffgaff or O2.
One of payment then free for years (unless you goo over) then you have the £15 on there tobegin with.

Ovivo is great. I have two Ovivo sims in my phone so it's twice as good :)

Ovivo is the only option. I've had mine for about 3 months now, never gone over the monthly allowance. Used my phone abroad and I still have £20 credit too! It's only cost me £15 for the initial set up, and I've not paid a penny since.

I rarely see the adverts as I don't browse the web on data. And the adverts don't show when you use apps.

Hopefully the company lasts for a long time, and it will work out as pennies per month!

Sorry to hijack the thread but are the adverts shown on all Ovivo's tariffs (including the monthly tariffs) or is just on the free 'Freedom' tariff?

And what's the situation regarding top-up etc? Is it a similar setup to GiffGaff?

Their paid tarrifs aren't really competitive. It's only the free one that is really worthwhile.

Topping up is simple, you can do it online. But as above, if you need much more than what is offered free every month, then there will probably be better deals out there.

Depends what you want really. As you can get the free data SIM too for £15. And pop that in when you've used up all your data from the original calls/texts/data SIM.

can i port my number to this ovivo company and know anything about international roaming?

The issue with Ovivo is that they will disable your SIM if you have not had any activity for a particular period of time.

I had a SIM disabled as I had not used it for over 6 months.

Vodafone should be sorted now. I'm moving my voda number next Tuesday.

According to whom?

We are currently aware of number transfers from Vodafone for customers with a VUK PAC Code, failing. As a result customers could be left without service for up to 3 or 4 working days. As a result, OVIVO will not be processing any transfers for customers with VUK PAC Codes from Vodafone, until this matter is resolved.

If you are an Vodafone customer with a VUK PAC Code, your transfer request will not be processed.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause you. We are working with our partners to resolve this matter as quickly as possible.
