Good phones for the price?

My darling wife is loking to buy a new phone.

She currently has a J5 and its fine for 90% of what she does with it, however, we have tried a few times now to install some apps like Whatsapp or Messenger and if we install anythign even like those, it has hissy fits and crashes all the time, and the ONLY way that we can then fix the phone, is to do a full reset.

Basically its junk.

She does not care for gaming or any nonsense like that and so we she is not wanting to spend stupid money on a phone.

So, what is a good phone for almost nothing?

£100 and £200

What could she get in that range that will be a great phone?

I wil freely admit that ideally she should be talking about £400 to start getting a good phone, but that is simply not justified for her.

Yes, I had the P20 and my son had the Mate 30

The mate 10 ? Wow, I never even knew the 4,5,6,7,8 or 9 had even come out.. Or is that like the Samsung just jupiong to a new number LOL ( Dont answer, its hypothetical - but I will check )

Xiaomi Redmi note 10? ok I will have a look at that.

Ok, two phones that we must look at...

I dug out my old Note 4 and played with it last night and it does everythign she could want it to, but its sickeningly slow.
I wonder, if there could be a way that I could force an olderFirmware onto it, that does NOT try updating? What Samsung have done with their stuff, is downright sickening.
I have a Note 3, Note 4 ( LOL Also got a Note 5 ) and a Tab 3 7" and the yhave all had oen update and have trundled to a virtual halt purely through the update and I have broken my note 10 and gone back to my Note 8 and thankfully its flawless, but for how long? Im never going Samsung again even though I love them to bits.

Anyway, I m waffling.

I will check those two out for her and see how she feels.

Ok, lots to consider.

We have been given an HONOR 7 off my mummy-kins.
I have tried sourcing a glass cover and case for it and I can get for the 7A 7E 7X and 7S but this is seemingly just the 7 ???

PLK-L01 I think is the model number.

It seems ok, but its a similar age to the J5 ( 2016 ) one that we are having issues with, so it may be something that we might use, given its mint and hardly used


But we are looking closely at the Redmi Note ones. Similarly, I feel that SONY Experia and Motorola are also ones that need to be looked at more.

So, cool, all things considered, we are looking at a few options now, so many thanks guys.
