I am going out with a friend early Jan for the day down London but was wondering what good places to eat there are near Baker Street? will be going there on Monday 6th Jan and would like a place that isn't overly busy.Any suggestions? price doesn't matter much...upto £50 a person i guess.

Thanks and Merry Xmas. :)

Within a short walk from Baker Street, The Orrery would be my pick.

But you've not really given us much info to go on with regard to the type of cuisine you're after or what sort of restaurant experience you're after, so it could be a wildly inappropriate suggestion.

We aren't fussed too much we both eat about anything lol but a casual type restaurant would be nice. Thanks for suggestions so far will check them later, any more?:D

How about Scoff & Banter?

Again it's a short walk to Marble Arch, but it's a fair bit more relaxed than somewhere like The Orrery and the food might be more up your proverbial street.

I'm not particularly taken with S&B myself, but it's has a faithful following and there's a decent selection of food on offer.

if you like steak, I'd recommend highly the Relais de Venise, L'Entrecote, just a short walk from baker street.

it does get busy, you can't book, and you will see queuing outside at peak times and the only choice you get on the food is how you want your steak cooked and dessert.

That must be the worst name for a restaurant I've ever come across!!!

One of my favourites around that area is Galvin Bistrot:
