Good pub/restuarants in Peterborough area

Ok, well it's my birthday tomorrow, and a good friend of mine wants to take me out for a meal/pub lunch as he is on his way to a place where he will be doing some work for a few days.
He's asked me to think of somewhere around the peterborough area, but obviously not living in peterborough I dont really know of any good places to go.

Just wondering, does anyone recommend anywhere to go for a pub lunch/restuarant in peterborough or surrounding areas?

Elton - Black Horse pub ~ 15mins from peterborough, top notch food but you will pay for it.

Haycock in Wansford is also pretty good.

Another one for the Blackhorse! their fillet steak is georgeous, great atmosphere too..

Yeah it's nice in there. Or nearby is the Loch fyne which is really good for seafood.

Bombay brasserie does a buffet lunch, really good value and nice food.

Beijing rendezvous for chinese. Do a buffet but might be Thu/Fri only.

When i worked there the afternoon snacks were in the region of £4-6, with starters around a fiver and main course between £10 and £20.
But that was 3-4years ago now!

Dunno, I didn't pay lol. Sounds about right! It's more expensive than a beefeater for instance but much much nicer.
