I have a lot of pics I have taken with the SLR that I want on my phone, however I don't need the full size pics.

Is there a good quality batch resize program that will reduce the pics size but not (relatively) suck the dynamic range out of the pics?

Photoshop is great, but cba doing them one by one.

If you can find it, NetGraphics Optimizer is superb. I bought a copy around 20 years ago and it's ridiculously easy to use with either a single image, or an entire batch of them. It's even operated flawlessly on every version of Windows and the compression can't be beaten.

For example, here's an image that was 2.68 Mb originally. Photoshop's Save For Web option (with a compression setting of 80%) reduced that down to...1.28 Mb, or just over 50% file saving. Wow!

However, the image you see below was compressed with NetGraphics (again with a compression setting of 80%) and is now just 51.2 Kb. That's only 1.74% of the original size.

With NetGraphics, you should be able to get your 900 Mb originals down to around 15Mb.

Cheers guys, I'm happy enough with Photoshop.

Used quality setting 8 and max size of 1920 (horizontal + vertical). I could have got them down to 15MB but I have plenty of space to accommodate 60MB.
