Good quality general use laptop

Morning all,

My auntie and uncle have asked me to advise them on a new laptop!

It will just be for general home use - email, shopping etc. They would like something that is relatively light weight so they can take it when they travel too. They don't change tech that often (their current laptop is 10yrs old and running Windows 7!!!). So I would like to avoid the budget end - something mid-high end perhaps as they will have it for years.

I personally have a Lenovo ThinkPad X1, however they don't want to spend as much. Something up to around £800 is their budget.

The Acer swift 3 look good value some come with 1tb ssd for around £600 starting point and 8 gb ram . Though the ram cant be upgraddd as its soldered.

Always check out some reviews before purchase.

The £600 version cimes with 4500u 6 cores the £700 version 4700u has 8 cores and better graphics but if there not gaming wont make much difference to them.

Swift 3 has an awful screen just sent one back. Now have a Lenovo Thinkbook which is much better….
