Good Quality, Good Airflow, Quiet case

Heya

Im looking for a good quality case, which doesnt have parts that are goin to break on me, has good airflow, and looks pretty cool (But not OTT).

I was looking at the akasa mirage, but a lot of people commented sayin the airflow with several hard drives and CPU fan the airflow was pretty poor, so now im just lost as to what to get.

The case i have at the moment, the USB ports broke, and it is soo stupidly noisy.

So does anyone have anythin that can fit my needs??

Im struggling to find any case that really sticks out

lol but what makes the eclipse case have any difference to airflow than the mirage? i thought they were roughly the same inside, i mean would u guys recommend the mirage case or is the eclipse one better?

Maybe im goin OTT about the mirage case and temp
 
Well the Mirage has a door which could lower air flow but it depends which one you like the front of best? I am not sure if the eclipse comes with it but the mirage has an "extra" HDD caddy which hangs near the CPU, so if you intend on having lots of HDD's it would come in useful ;)

Take note of the door on the Mirage, its not a "hollow" shell and lays flush with the front of the case so if you have anything sticking out like fan controller nobs it will stop the door from closing - I have moved my controller back about 3-4mm and the door will close now.

Cant really see it "indented" there but it still looks ok.
 
Do u like the mirage? Just every bit of kit i got from akasa ive always really liked and found i got good value for money

I was planning on putting in the 2 amber ultra quiet fans, so dunno if id need a fan controller or not

But would u recommend the mirage??

Also just to double check the clear side panel for the eclipse fits the mirage as well doesnt it?

Yes the windowed panel fits fine. I do recommend the case, even though I was extremly unlucky with mine. One of the back plates had came off in delivery and had scratched up the motherboard tray, and I have now noticed I have a bent side panel which doesn't lay flush with the case.

I am requesting a new side panel though as now I've noticed it, it is very annoying and also I think its causing a slight vibration.. Don't let this put you off though, there are plently of happy Mirage and eclipse owners on the forum! The back plates are screwed down with thumb screws so it would be very rare for this to be a regulary occurence!
 
O i think i just read ** forum post, what i was goin to say is perhaps OcUK could drop off a new case and pick up the old one at the same time??

I bought a subwoofer for a friends car and the company who sold it to me sent a second hand one that didnt work at all so sent me a new one and took the old one on the same delivery, so just a suggestion.

Well i think ill go for the mirage case then, thanks a lot for your advice, you've been awesome
 
I hadn't thought of that, I am not sure most companies would be willing to do it though. I bought some speakers (cost me £106) a few years ago from a competitor and they sent me a second hand set with all the rubber mounts/stand offs of the sub all teared and ripped!!! The box had been tapped back up with BROWN selotape too! After a few emails I had a replacement shipped and they picked up the old one at the same time they dropped the new one off and didn't charge me a thing - the way it should be seeing as they sent me a dodgy product!

<edit> Also dont forget, if airflow does appear to be a problem you could always get a scythe kama-bay and come with a silent fan, they look very nice and when OcUK have them in stock I am going to order myself one :)

Yeah well im sticking in one the the akasa evo CPU coolers, with the 2 120mm silent fans (When i get round to buying the new stuff) so im hoping everythin should be ok

Im very interested in watercooling but the thought of water and computer parts dont feel me with confidence lol
