Good replacement for SM206BW?

Guys, I think my trusty Samsung SM206BW has finally bit the dust! I fixed the flashing screen a couple of years ago now by replacing the dodgy caps, but today it developed another problem - turns on for 1 second then off again. Aparently the inverter has gone, along with another cap. Now I have ordered the inverter from HK, and replaced the cap but I don't hold out much hope :(

That leads to my question, can anyone recommend a screen that's on par with the Sammy, is 16:10, and less than £200 (pref closer to £100)?

As for size, happy to stick with 20" or even move up to 22 or 24.

Thanks :)

Just as a somewhat delayed update to this, currently using the SM206BW, having replaced the caps/transformer and finally the CCFL tubes - it was the tubes that were the culprit, 1 completely blown (glass shattered) and 2 burnt out.

Well pleased to have it up and running again, though I need to strip it down as there are 3 specks of dust near the bottom - grrr :(

Got rid of the dust and now there are 3 areas of bright backlight bleed at the bottom! I can see this being a little bit of a fiddle to sort it out completely where I want it :p

I can only assume the metal runners are slightly bent in the centre and at both edges, hence causing the bleed. Will update when I check it out later.

UPDATE: pulled it apart again, couldn't see much wrong, tried some reshaping of the rail, but hasn't made much difference. It's not too bad, so I guess I can live with it until I can get around to stripping it down again.

Can't quite understand how there is zero bleed from the top, yet 3 places on the bottom. Might try swapping the rails and see what happens, but it'll do well for now. What I have also noticed is a very small section in the lower right hand corner has a yellow tinge. Perhaps the bottom CCFL tubes aren't the best, who knows. I have emailed the company to see what their advice is.

UDPATE 2: I seem the have sorted it, applied a lot of pressure to the plastic surround on both lower corners and it's now a lot better than it was. Still a little bleed and a very tiny amount of yellow tinge, but damn near perfect to be honest :)

Oh by the way, anyone wanting to test their screen should find this link very useful... http://tft.vanity.dk/monitorTest_scale.html

Not sure if anyone is following this, but for anyone with similar issues, don't be put off by my experiences. This is fiddly, but quite achievable.

I made a somewhat schoolboy error which I did not realise until the morning after installing the backlights - I had tightened the 3 screws at the bottom of the screen about half a turn too much. The result? I woke up to a 10mm crack on the lower left corner of the lcd :(

It wasn't a complete disaster though and when I loosened off the 3 screws it cleared most of the backlight bleed I had before. I have now taped off the bright damaged area and reduced the resolution to 1600x1024, at which luckily the image is not affected at all :)

I was considering picking up a 2nd hand SM206BW to replace the actual panel, but not sure I want to do that now, as it's perfectly usable as it is.

All in all it's been quite an experience from start to finish, but I would quite happily take on a similar project again.

Oh and I got the CCFL tubes (ready-made with the wiring and silicon holders) from CCFL Warehouse in the US. It took 13 days to arrive from date of order and cost £41 including postage/customs/Royal Mail surcharges. £13 of that total was the customs/RM charges :(

I'll try to get a guide up of the process over the next few days.
