Good Sheppards Pie recepie?

As per title. Easy enough to make but i'm tempted to cook the meat with some mild spices and a splash of red wine, would that work?

Nice one thanks. Just noticed that is has two of these listed seperatley:

1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

It this a typo or should I just use 1/2?

I think it is 2. Put 1/4 cup in the mash to start with (blended in) then 1/4 on top before it goes in the oven, along with some paprika and sliced up tomato's if you like.

Haha, yeah you're right! Shep pie has lamb and cottage pie has beef.

Gravy with lamb stock + good slug red wine
Good slosh of Worcestershire sauce
Onion
Carrots
Peas
Garlic
Mixed herbs
Salt+Pepper
Mashed potato

i like lamb chunks not mince then pretty much as DIV0 has said above but with some tabasco or worcestershire sauce

Garry Rhodes had a good recipe. The lamb was coarsely minced, or cut into one cm cubes as was the all the veg. I tried it and it was better than the mush that is sometimes served. There are 21 different recipies here, I tend to mix and match

ha ha ha, Baked beans with any kind of gravy is lush, so baked beans in shepherds pie is a winner
