Looking for recommendations for games to play on my smartphone (Android).

Don't mind paying as I can't bear intrusive ads. Anything shoot em up, driving or sports related would be good - especially golf.

There's tons out there but I don't know what's hot & what's not so keen to hear any recommendations.

I don't know about the categories of games you have stated but I have Mah Jong on my phone. Its good for keeping your brain active and gets progressively more difficult as you go up in levels.

I have the Times puzzles subscription for that kind of thing.

I guess I'm after something that will use hand eye coordination.

Don't think I've ever played Mah Jong - will take a look.

Forgot to mention, I've been playing Ultimate Cribbage on my iPad for a couple of years. That really is fun.

Did anyone remember Boney the Runner? You're a skeleton being chased by zombie dogs over graveyard obstacles. Used to love that - sadly it's been discontinued.

It's not worth investing in premium games on Android, developers don't update them.

XCOM2 used to work fine on my S23U, but refuses to install on my S25U. But you can buy the game again in new package if you want.

Same with the GTA games, I've bought a few previously but they don't work anymore, need to buy them again. and I'm not talking about the definitive versions.

Mobile gaming is trash, there are so many games in my purchase history that don't work anymore.

Can also remember the games released for the shield, they were so good. But of course none of them work anymore. Such a waste.

Ok fine if you want an actual good game, Swordigo is excellent. I downloaded it for my flight to Rhodes and couldn't stop playing it.

I think I will follow the earlier poster's suggestion regarding Mah Jong.

Reminds me, a while back I picked up a copy of the 70s Mastermind game in a junk shop. Great game, that. I must see if there's a digital version.

The guy with the beard on the box with the oriental looking lady - I'm sure there was a story there but I'll be darned if I can remember.

Out of the box suggestion, but you should consider installing some emulators, and playing some classic console games? Obviously you'll have to own a physical copy of the original, mind :P
