Good software for scanning photos?

Hi Guys I have an HP All in one printer/scanner thingy and I have lots of old family photos which I want to scan in to have on the pc

The photos are mainly just small 6"x4" photos, Im basically after some software where I can scan in say 4 or 6 photos at a time and the software will automatically detect how many seperate photos are been scanned in and then produce 4 or 6 seperate JPG files

That function would be part of the drivers for it would it not?
