Recuva as above. Very good piece of software. Used it myself and got the accidentally deleted files back. Of course I made sure not to save/create any files to prevent the missing files from getting overwritten.
Isn't that more due to the actual OS being a lot more write happy during normal use (before you run the tool) though?
Definitely Recuva though - it's done a couple of bacon saving moves for me in the last couple of weeks, where "users" have been silly and the service desk team don't have the pre-requisite clue to know about such tools.
Yes thats what I meant to say, Indexing can be a pain but most of the Vista Machine we have at work are used for small video editing files and the indexing service goes crazy. But there again XP Requires more defraging due to its handling of files so the best advice is get help as soon as the file is removed
