I am looking to build up a new system for me to clock up for some great performance, I am how ever trying to work on a budgest of less than £1000. I think I have picked out what would be a good spec but if some of you more expert clockers could give it the once over it would be much apreciated

G.Skill 2GB DDR ZX PC3200 (2x1GB)
AMD Opteron UP 165 Dual Core San Diego 1.8GHz 2MB Cache
DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT
XFX GeForce 7800GT Extreme Edition 256MB
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro CPU Cooler
Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000RPM SATA 8MB Cache RAID Bundle

The main uses will be for gaming, but I do lots of everything else (video edition/encoding etc..), my current system is not clocked in any way but is a 754 amd 64 3400+, with a 6800gt, 1gig of bog standard pc3200 and a single maxtor sata drive for boot drive, another and an ide for storage. I plan to raid the raptors for the boot drive and then raid the maxtors for storage. Also I have an antec true blue 480watt psu, would this be enough or would I need a new one of these to?

Any comments guys? im kinda holding out on ordering as I have no experience with these parts so dont know if I have picked a good combo.

Not sure why people didn't reply to you ... I guess most people are at work / school during the day.

Anyhow, that is a fine setup - you should be able to overclock that a treat! You must get some raptors in RAID 0 at some point though - not to be missed out on!

Hope everything goes well for you :p

Thanks for the reply, I will save the raptors for next time, when I think I will add another 7800gt for sli and a new case to :D good to know I didnt pick any bad components there though just looking forward to getting them on saturday now :D
