Ok so looking at upgrading my old p4 3.2 with it's 1.7gb ram and it's AGP grfx card to something a bit more up to date.

Not really looking at overclocking just want some advice as to is this a spec that will work well or aret here conflicts somewhere ?

Ok spec, but the G.Skill NR kit doesn't work with the DS3, so get some Corsaiir XMS2 C5. Also the 7900's failure rate is quite high, so get an X1800XT instead.

Seems changing those 2 Items drops the cost of it down a lil bit :) So if nobody else has any suggestions think i'm gonna go with the above

Fenderbass has specced you his system lol but saying that its a nice system so no harm. Will you be overclocking?

Oh Another thing think that spec would run on a 400w Power supply ?

Will be running above spec with a cd drive and 4 x sata drives

Doubt i'll be overclocking never really had the urge to also the fact thati would probably kill it all so nope wont be overclocking this spec.

PSU is the one currently in my system

But i do have a Hiper Type R 480w lieing around from a mates old pc would that be better ?

yup that akasa will be fine and you could get cheaper ram if not overclocking

Which would you recommend for 2gb ram and still compatable with the mobo ?

Also does the GFX card come with a 6 Pin to 4 Pin Power cable adaptor or is one not needed for this card ?

That graphics card comes with a ton of cables, everything you could ever need including a six pin/four pin power connector. I've got it, absolute bargain!
