Good steak restaurant in central London?

It's my birthday next month and the missus is treating me to a meal. So I am after a good steak restaurant, not too pricey as on a budget really but want as good as we can get. One condition though it must be a tastecard restaurant.

I have had a look through the Tastecard website and there's loads on there but some are hit and miss.

Does anyone know of any good steak restaurants?

Flatiron could be an option? Certainly cheap, I haven't been and heard some mixed reviews, but might be worth a go

Maxela would be stepping it up a bit - had some very good reviews and looks a bit cheaper than Hawksmoor/Goodman.

Flatiron website about as useful as can be. No menu, no details, nothing. Annoying

Menu is flatiron steak, with a salad, £10. Chips and other bits can be added.

for a slightly larger budget and as a special treat it has to be Goodmans. i am going back for my 40th this yr, absolutely delightful beef!

Crap load of them around in London and the few times I've been there, the food has been really good. Not that expensive either.

Although, I have only gone to the 1 in Leicester Square so I don't know what the others are like.

And being in Leicester Square, theres also lots to do after/before your meal, with cinemas, clubs, bars, casinos, china town, shops, theaters all within 5/10min walk
