Hey all,

I feel like go through a single player game with an excellent storyline. I'm into action games, so anything action based with a decent story will do :)

Aww :( I was going to put that in my main post... but I'll do it now...
I thought that a few people might say Fahrenheit because.. lets face it - it's the best storylined game in the world... however Ive completed it almost 3 times now :p

Pfft :) How about Bioshock? Thats got a good story, and its a very good game too.
Grim Fandango is very good too.
 
Another vote for Bioshock from me. Psychonauts had a good storyline and was great fun to play, as was Mafia. I thought that Dark Messiah was quite good story-wise too.
 
Without a doubt, Planescape Torment has the best story line and quality of writing i've experienced in a video game. It is also one of the most enjoyable and engrossing games i've played. It's not an action game, though.
 
Psychonauts <- brilliant + cheap on steam
Condemned: Criminal Origins <- very good
Vampire: Bloodlines <- brilliant + cheap on steam
 
Freespace games
Homeworld 1 and cataclysm (2 sucked)
Battlezone 2
Grim Fandango
The Longest Journey (best ever) (not dreamfall btw)
Syberia 1 and 2
Monkey Island games
 
The top 3 I've played in recent years:

KOTOR
Deus Ex
Freespace 2

Others worthy of mention:

Chaser (well... it's a bit hit and miss actually, but at least they tried - massive plot in there)
Call of Duty (not a storyline in the traditional sense, but it feels like it is telling a story)
Mafia (bit overrated but still a well presented story)
Driv3r (pretty average gameplay but an almost movielike feel to the storyline cutscenes)

Metal Gear Solid (however you dont get the full story on the PC asince there is only one game I know of)
Fahrenheit
