Good tablet for a child

ok Wanting a tablet for my boy to stop him messing with my phone. am looking to spend £150 max.

i have seen the OcUK Lava range with dual core cpu and quad core gfx but other than that i have no clue when am looking at

what should i get for:

5yo boy.
just started playing games.
must have WiFi.
Play Store.

you can buy 1st Gen Nexus 7 for as low as £90 refurb. usually £120.

new one is around £140, but with that money it really makes more sense to add £20-30 more to get 2nd gen.
