I've just set my i7 950 (with Patriot PC3-12800 (1600Mhz) & Asus P6X58D-E) @ 4Ghz (watercooled with 3 pull fans on a ek 360rad, xspc dual bay res & pump, ek nickle cpu block) and just wondered if 64C during prime is a decent temp to be running at? At the moment it's idling at 40C, but i am going to be adding 3 more fans to pull the air also!

I tried going to 4.4Ghz by upping the multiplier to 22, but it crashed in windows (i assume because my cpu voltage is at 1.2 and it needs more?)
Been looking trying to find average temps but only really found air cooling temps!
Cheers,
Matt

On average 4+ghz clocks on water cooling, range from 55c-70c depending on stuff used, the key factor is the ambient air temp, and the vcore required for the clocks.

My clock below when i tested with prime is 65-70c during the day. 55c-60c late evening/night. So you are about spot on temps wise. The key thing is you could lower the fan speeds and still keep that temp, fastest i ever have to run my fans are 1000rpm (they are 1900rpm fans).

About the crash, that generally means you will need to up the vcore, and for 4.4ghz you would have to use 1.3v+ and even raise the vtt volt too.

For what little reassurance it may offer, I'm 40 degrees above you while stress testing at 4ghz. Stable so far. That's watercooled too, though I'm fairly sure I have pump issues.

Temperatures look good.
As for the overclock, yes add more volts to get it stable.
At the temperatures you are getting, this will not be a problem.
