Hi all,

A friend of mine went to Thailand recently and really liked the food over there, so I'm thinking of getting him a Thai recipe book. The only problem is that he never cooks, so it would have to be a book suitable for "beginners" or atleast easy receipes. Hoping this book will get him into cooking more :)

This might be tough because I think thai cooking is quite complex, but worth a try. Any recommendations?

You can cheat with a lot of nice thai food by using the various pastes/etc that you can get at asian supermarkets. It won't be as nice as a *well made* fresh version of the recipe but it will be damn close.

Not exactly what you're looking for but you could try purchasing him some of that stuff and some coconut milk. You can't really get easier than combine paste + coconut milk + meat.

Yeah those are some good ideas, I was mainly looking at getting book :)

David Thompson's book is considered the bible of thai cookery - even in Thailand. The only problem is it's tough getting all the ingredients though
