I've recently moved house and it will be a few months before I get time to get back to gaming ( or even get my pcs set up)

I know nobody has a crystal ball but do you think I should sell my 5700xt and possibly a whole pc while market prices are high and buy something better once I have time again? or will I still struggle to buy a replacement components in a few months?
Thanks
Scott

I would not sell anything unless you are willing to wait a while for new stuff. For all we know the shortage could go on till the end of the year because weve never had to deal with a pandemic before. All pc components seem to go out of stock from time to time since everyone is working from home and need parts.

If you don't game very much then I say go for it - especially if you have a console to use and/or a laptop for general stuff.

Though I expect GPU shortage will last another 6-12 months so don't expect to be able source a replacement cheaply/easily

You shouldn't cash in with hardware you're going to want back in a few months.

Absolutely you'll get a good price.

But now you've set yourself up to be forced into the queue and paying someone else a fat premium to have some gear again.

No one can safely profit unless they've got excess hardware.

It's a difficult situation I've done it a couple of times before taken some time away from it and the hardware I had when I stopped playing was starting to showing it's age by the time I went back. ( 780 SLI) if I had sold them I could have got something much better with the money when I wanted to start playing again. I know things have never been quite like this before though.
