Good time to upgrade?

I built my system back in March with a view to having a bit of headroom to upgrade at some point. I was initially thinking next year, but have been tempted by a 970.

My current system is as follows:

Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell)
Gigabyte Radeon R9 270X WindForce 3X OC 2048MB GDDR5
Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 650W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply
Microsoft Windows 8.1
BitFenix Ronin Tower Case
TeamGroup Vulcan ORANGE 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache WD10EZEX
Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler

At the same time I'd be looking at changing the fan for a liquid cooler (don't want to go full water-based cooling).

I only game at 1080P through my TV and my considerations are noise and performance.

So, is it worth upgrading? And, if so, what 970 and liquid cooler should I go for? I don't really want to be spending more than £350 if I can help it (I initially saw a Corsair Hydro for about £60, but I see they are all out of stock.)

I admit I know nothing about liquid cooling or what details I should be looking at on GPUs these days, so all assistance gratefully received!

I presume waiting until next year is a bit of a fools errand, as we don't know when AMD will announce cards and then what, if any, impact on price we'd see on nVidia cards. Right?

Cut corners where you can and get a 290 PCS+ for 199 or a 970, both these cards will give you an extra year of maxing games out at least.

Would spend less on the motherboard and more on GPU.
