Good time to upgrade?

HHi guys,

Have not been keeping up with tech recently and im wondering if its a good time to upgrade my board and cpu. Currently running a maximus hero xi with a 9900k. If I was to buy it would either be the top or 2nd best gaming cpu with a mid range board, board upto 3-400 and cpu upto 500. Is this a gd time or is new tech just around the corner? Thankyou to anyone able to give me some insight.

I think that with a 9900k you're good for a while yet. Let the DDR5 prices settle down and the utility or otherwise of the big + little cores sort itself out and aim to buy next year.

I like to play games at there best even in vr and even a little boost will be welcome so if i was to upgrade and get say 5-10fps id consider it money well spent, which are considered gd at the min? Ty for your help

Check again late this year.
With DDR5 prices you would be paying very heavily for every extra fps.
Also latencies should improve with DDR5 maturing.
