Hi guys,

I've tried and tried and tried to get my Win HVR 1100 card to work in Ubuntu.
But it just doesn't seem to pick up all the channels and the signal is around 35%.

I tried so many forums and it appears that it just doesn't want to work.
This is the reason that I am being stopped as using Linux as my main OS.

So what card do you have that actually works straight out of the box? and will pick up all channels? And will work in Windows 7?

what about the cheaper wintv nova cards ?

im using the nova-td 500 pci card, it has dual tuners and never had a problem running it under linux.

i currently have 3 of them running in a mythtv backend server.

althou i dont get all the freeview channels (due to bad signal area) i do get quite a few with some strong signal.

the signal from them is better than the standalone freeview tuner in my tv, and more channels work on them than my tv.

the hvr series have never had good linux support tbh

thanks will check out the nova card series

did it work straight out of the box?
what do u use to view tv?

well the HVR series are really terrible
I might just give the support team a call and see if they can get it working.
