Hi and merry boxing day , heres another spec me a card thread

Im looking for a good performance upgrade from my current 4890,currently i game at 1680x1050 but will be replacing my monitor for a 1920x1080 one

games i play are BC2,BC2:v,blops,waw and cod 4,the 4890 handles these ok but struggles with any added AA which i tend to like especially in BC2

my PC is also a HTPC connected to my 50" plasma via HDMI so i need a card that will transmit picture AND sound via ,do they all do this now ? i seem to be having issues with ATI sound drivers and win 7 atm claiming that my cable is unplugged when it clearly isnt as its transmitting picture,so i thought a move to the green side might fix this ongoing issue but im not a fan boi of either side i just want the best performance for my budget and i want the card that easiest to set up as a HTPC

budget of between 150-200 but will stretch a little further if the extra "bang for buck" is worth it

thanks :)

At that price range it has to be the 6950. But if you are not in a hurry, you could wait for GTX560 and see what it has to offer.

On the other hand you could consider the MSI GTX470 Twin FrozeR II:

At stock clock it is slower than the 6950, but if you were to comparing them on average max overclock vs overclock, they should be on par with each other (since the GTX470 can overclock by 33-40% on average, whereas the 6950 would only overclock by 7.5-14%). The MSI GTX470 Twin FrozeR II does have higher power consumption, but the custom cooler will keep the card well-cooled...and also it is cheaper than the 6950 right now.
