Hi, just a quick one if I may.

Would this be a good upgrade from my HD 7850, or could I get better value for spending slightly more?

Cheers!

Edit:

Should add, I'm on a Asus P8Z68-V LX, with 8Gb of ram and a 2500k. Thanks.

R9 380 or 390 are the way to go for price to performance, you are not going to be displeased with either.

If the MSI 390 is still on offer (it was last week, not sure about now) and your budget can stretch to it, I'd definitely suggest that.

Great to know thanks!

Edit:

Scanning through some benchmarks, it appears the 390 is massively better than the 380, is that so? If so, I guess I'd be better looking at one of those.

R9 380X should be around any time now as well, so might be worth waiting to see if that affects prices much.

Not sure if anyone (OcUK staff?) has a release date?

The 390 is a very good card and what someone with a £200-250 budget should be looking at - If £185 is your budget the 380 is the way to go :)

The 390X is an awesome card (assuming your not waiting for the 380X)

Do you mean 390? I don't really think the 390X is worth it.

I could stretch to the 390 realistically, provided it was future proof for at least a few years. It's a pity I missed the MSI 390 offer last week.

I don't suppose the OcUK overlords will take pity on me and put another one on sale next week?!? :D

I would go for the 390, the 8GB will future proof it and should easily see two years from it. Especially with talks for DX12 been the favored platform for AMD cards.
