I'm due for a complete system upgrade including monitor, and I am considering going for the higher res of a 24" over a 20" or 22" monitor, especially as the 8800GTX I plan to get will be able to handle most games at 1920x1200 pretty well.

However, I don't really have much of a budget, so I was wondering if there are any good gaming 24" monitors this side of £350. Anyone got a monitor that fits this criteria that performs well?

Cheers.

the Samsung SM-245B 24" is considered good for gaming [ie response time] and comes in just under £300, the newer Samsung SM-2493HM 24" boasts a few revisions and updated features and comes in at £350 which is your price range, not sure about its gaming performance but i'd imagine its on par with the 245B. BTW both are TN panels as far as I can tell so you are going to suffer a bit from viewing angles. The other option is the OcUK PVA panel which is £260 but i'm not sure of its performance - there are threads that cover this though. Other PVA/IPS style panels are generally over £400.

I've got a Yuraku 24" *PV panel, 6ms response and low Input Lag. I'm very happy with it for gaming and everything else.
Cost me £199, an absolute bargain. If you go for the OCUK bargain range you might get a DGM branded version of the same panel, but it's a little hit and miss.
