Good value 5.1/7.1 speakers for PC?

As the title suggests, i'm looking for a set of decent-ish surround speakers for my bedroom to enjoy the power of my shiny new X-Fi. Not looking to spend too much and was looking at:

Just wondering if 7.1 is really a difference over 5.1, and if either of these would do the job for gaming/music, or do you chaps have any other recommendations at all?

Hmm ok so which set would you reccommend? Was also looking at the Logitech "wireless" Z5450's and the wired Z5500's...

Hmm I won't be able to run my external DVD player through them will I... that's a shame I hadn't thought about that...

If its one with the breakout box it should be possible

The Xtreme Gamer 7.1 is the one I have... arrives on Monday I think. Don't think it has a breakout box though...

Hmm appears I need a Creative Decoder DDTS 100 to pull this all off properly...
