Good value (cheap) mic

I use a set of Sennheiser PX 200 - II on my PC, which I quite fond of, and for a mic, I have a very cheap headset that I bought from PC World years ago, that I just hang round my neck.

The other night a mate recorded a gaming session and my voice was definitely the worst quality out of the lot. So I'm wondering if anyone can give some mic recommendations, I don't want to buy a whole new headset, because I'm attached to my Sennheisser's, also I want to spend less the £20 ideally.

Don't buy that Speedlink, it is rubbish. :p

I have had two of them, the clip broke on both of them, people were always complaining about the audio quality, and the second one just screeches whenever you plug it in.

I'll bet most of the good reviews were written within a few days when it was still working fairly OK.

Is this too expensive? http://v-moda.com/boompro-microphone/

£28 incl shipping to UK.

The v moda mic is really good, have it myself but you ideally need a pair of headphones with a 3.5mm detachable port to use it. Although I have modded my sennheiser hd598s to accommodate them.

I can second the little clip on one being a bit naff. I could never get the volume high enough for people to actually hear me talking :(

Sorry I totally forgot that you need headphones with a 3.5mm jack to use them! My headphone have a 3.5mm jack so it didn't cross my mind. :p

The Modmic will give better voice quality. I prefer over ears if you're gaming for a long time though, so would probably go with the HyperXs personally. On another note, you could tie the v moda boom mic to your headphones if you want a cheaper option as they don't need to be plugged into headphones for the mic to actually work, but would look a little odd.

That little medusa clip on is fine if taken care of.
There's no input issue at all with it being too quite, I think that problem arrises from a poor set up in all honesty.
