I'll be putting an ASUS A8N32-sli board in the case, PCI gfx, 2/3 x HDD, 2 x Optical, floppy :p
I'll be using the Swiftech apex H20 watercooling kit. (There will be a block on the CPU, GPU and north bridge)

After a browse and a look it would seem that the Lian Li v1000 is a good choice, also looking at the Temjin TJ07 and Coolermaster 830.

Good choices, bad choices? Any others?

Take the 830 of your list to consider, its got some build quality issues.

From your choices I would say you have a high budget, so does value for money matter to you? :p

The v1000+ has a habbit of making motherboards with heatpipes run a little hotter than normal due to the inverted motherboard. Something to remember. :)

So the 830 is out? and v1000 may not be a great choice with the mobo? I was actually looking to remove the heatpipes and put a water cooling block on the northbridge, not sure its do-able will have to check.

The TJ07 is not cheap for sure but its likely a case I can use for years?

Also will the watercooling kit fit in these cases?

Q's Q's Q's!

If you wanna go mad you can even get mosfet cooling block that you can plumb into the water rig. Atleast you can for the premium I'm sure you can for yours too. OCUK sell these and are by alphacool.

This way the heatpipe problem is illiminated. I like the v1000+ because it has ventilation holes at the bottom and there just happens to be a nice partition space to mount your 2.120 rad, once you've removed the partitions and h/drive cages. This way you dont need to mod. I'm making some mounting brackets to go in the 5.25in bays for the pumps that I plan to buy.

I wanna clock my cpu up more than my asus will allow so I'm changing my mobo.

IF your not so picky about quality issues you could go for the thermaltake armour. A m8 of mine has one and he says theres ample space plus it also has in/out grommet holes for watercooling.

Take a look at the Gigabyte 3d Aurora. The original though, as the second version is pap.

Good because they have precut w/c holes and a 120.2 rad will slap straight on the back with no jiggery pokery needed.

I'll see your CM Mystique and raise you a CM Stacker 830 ;) According to the website "It can also be upgraded to accommodate with Cooler Master’s latest liquid cooling system"

Four 120mm fans in the side panel...if only you could fit a rad in-between them and the side-panel...

But check out the updated version just announced: http://www.anandtech.com/tradeshows/showdoc.aspx?i=2781&p=4

I've been keeping an eye on some of the new cases that have recently been announced at Computex and so on, and there seems to have been a flood (sorry) of cases either with built-in W/C or that were designed to have W/C added to them.

I'm going to be building a new PC when Core 2 comes out, it's looking as though everything might just fall into place in time for that. Well, except the gfx card; gonna get a cheap one till I can get a DX10 card.

It probably is something Thermaltake would make.

Coolermaster = the new Tt, built worse than current Tt's, no customer support.

Really sad that the best in buisness has gone this way, but I have just been horrified by any CM case I have used in 2006. :( (Just on build quality.)

The old stackers are best of class really!

Thing is, great cases that dont have any bling or gaming case features do not really sell that well.

Stick a huge pointless rubbish 250mm fan on the side and it sells like hotcakes, regardless of the fact the fan is a load of rubbish and misses the point of bigger fans.

250mm fan would be ace if they did it properly and made it an ATX standard, wont happen though.

Perhaps there should be an educative thread in this forum - "Good Case, Bad Case". To help the lost sheeps of Case Gods. :D

Personally, the price of case plays a heavy part. If I've enough to spare, I'd shamelessly go for a Bling looking case and watercool it (if the case is have place for mounting of course)

Im all about value for money. I like a bargain.

Used to not like the Super Lanboy, love it now!

PC7+II

Eclipse 62

ATCs 630b

v1000+

Soprano

They just are bargains from one place or another, and that makes a good case to me. You don't always get what you pay for, the Vento V Super Lanboy is the prime example.

LOL, look what I started :D

I didn't see anything about a 250mm fan, but yes if it was done properly that'd be great.

As for the bling, well from the little I can see it doesn't look anywhere near as bad as most. In fact it might even look pretty stylish when it's closed.

CM link to a couple of reviews from their site which rave about the case. Although one of them thought that bigger fans would be noisier than small ones...not sure they're the most reliable sources...

Anyway I'm gonna reserve judgement till I see some reviews of the new cases that are coming out :)

BTX is a old outdated standard, so someone has to support it...

It is just a marketing exercise to get the mis-informed to part with their money.
