Good watercooling setup under £500

There are some restrictive rads out there but for the most part they'll not cause any issues.
The waterblock is still going to be the most restricive part in the loop.

A single D5 will have no problems pumping through multiple rads and blocks.

A nice example is rjkoneill's build where he's got a single D5 pumping through a cpu block, mobo block and a gtx 480 block then into a quad and a double rad.

Wise chosing of components are needed though.

I had a triple rad, single rad, apogee xt, two ek waterblocks and it brought my d5 to its knees and it was just a trickle.

Adding a 2nd one on the same reservoir meant both loops were running like a hosepipe again.

I'm not sure what type and how many rads will fit your case but you shouldn't need £500, even for a dual loop. If it were my money, I would be tempted to get a bigger/better case more suited to a large watercooling setup. Something like a TJ07 or a Corsair 800D. IF you want the best case for watercooling then you can't go far wrong with a mountainmods case. Those cases however forfeit style for substance.

See the link in my sig for info on dual loops, large cases and watercooling ;).

There re some great builds HERE which should give you some inspiration

Wow, not changing the case thats for suire, Ive just bought it, and definately can't go bigger than a HAF x its humongous, have you seen one? Maybe single loop with massive rad and fans on both sides of rad in push/pull setup

The max you're going to get in the haf x is a triple rad iirc. You might get away with that but you will certainly be pushing things and will deffo need some pretty high pressure fans to keep it cool so I hope you wern't doing this for silence!

That'll be the bad side of 500w under load. Iirc a thermochill 360 with decent 1600rpm fans manages a c/w value of 0.02. Water temps of about ten over ambient aren't great, but its enough.

Dont put an ek cpu block in series with that lot using a d5 if you want better than air cooling temperatures though, id expect a cpu load temp 40-50 over ambient.

If its running f@h, and that's the only reason i can think of for 480gtx sli with a 980x, then i'd suggest a second radiator, and either a different cpu block or a second pump.

Im not a noise freak but the quieter the better, how about a triple rad at top of case and a 120 somewhere else, Im certain I could fit a 120 rad somewhere else inside the case, theres tons of room? would I need two pumps for that?

Two loops pretty much = two pumps imo.

Although, I have seen people running two loops with just one pump. I wouldn't recommend that for beginners.

are thew loops completly separate or literally two completely separate loops that have 2 of everything, if so which do I use the bigger rad to cool the CPU or the graphics, I will have a triple rad and also a single rad, worried that a single rad may not be enough for the monsterous heat output of 2 x GTX480's

Why are you worried that a single rad will not be enough for two 480s? Remember that they are designed to work with the stock air cooler, and with that they go to 90c and more. So even a single rad would probably keep them 20-30c cooler, which is easily enough :)

However, I would personally go with the single rad for the cpu and the triple rad for the 480s

yes, the loops would be completely independant of each other

It is amazing that a 120.2 can handle 2x Xeons and a 5970. I guess it all comes down to the fan. If you can afford San Aces, then a 120.3 can (hopefully) handle your set up.

Whose build is that? I should imagine it is quite well optimsed to make the most of it.
