Hey,

Looking for any good Zombie or survival horror type games for the PC. Either full games or mods for the ones I already have (HL, HL2, UT2004 etc.).

Cheers,

Suman

There arnt any really good ones as yet but there are a few hl2 mods on their way you should be looking at

Left 4 Dead(official mod - online co-op and vs - single player available)
D.E.A.D (unofficial mod - online co-op and vs)
theres some others but i dont have time to find them atm

the other one i was thinking of is
Zombie Panic:Source (unofficial mod - online coop and vs)
theres also a Zombie Panic mod for HL1 same as source but with less stuff, except its actually released

The people who made a really good zombie mod for Half-Life 1, They Hunger, are working on a sequel in source, although it's not free. The original They Hunger trilogy for the first half-life is free, however, and even though it'll seem dated it's bloody good fun. And quite scary.

not really a game, but on certain css servers, poeple have that zombie mod on, where there is like 20+ bots runnin around with endless life unless hs over and over again, and you get like 10 slowly walking towards you. can be pretty fun.

There was one I played way back called BrainBread or something, its on crappy Steam.

Also try Stubbs the Zombie, not my type of game but maybe you would like it.

Yeah I know about most of these mods but they are all unreleased :(

Agnes, got any IP's for those CSS Zombie servers?

Cheers,

Suman

I have recently been introduced to PAINKILLER.

There is also PainKiller : Battle Out Of Hell to go for when you have completed PainKiller.

What do I think of this game?

Well, take every game that you have ever found to be better than any other game, and throw them in the bin. This baby is far far better than anythign I have ever had... Except a couple. ( UT / Quake2 )

I can only fault it on one thing, and even that is debateable... AI

Everythign else is beyond brilliant... GamePlay, Massive number of levels, fast frantic gameplay, absolutely perfect physyics, tons of bad guys, coupled with puzzle-elements, and scary too! - makes Doom3 and Ravenholm look like a sunny day in the park.

BrainBread is great fun. Co-op Half life 1 mod. Also, there was around 3 really good Co-op missions released for Sven Co-Op (half life 1) which were based around the resident evil story.

Really, really good fun with 3 or 4 of your mates at a LAN or over the internet. Me and my mates have completed them all a couple of times now. :D

Organise this (http://www.svencoopcentral.com/download.php?list.7) list by Downloads and they'll all be at the top.

Not out yet but on it's way! (23rd Feb)

I guess I'll wait patiently until then :)

I was looking forward to RE4 too....however:

"The graphics were expected to be superior to the PS2 port and even the original GameCube version due to more powerful hardware, and rumor goes that the mouse was to be supported. However, on January 26 2007 when copies were shipped to some in Taiwan who pre-ordered the game, it turned out that the mouse is not supported, and the graphics were a total disappointment. In comparison with captured screens of the original GameCube version and the PS2 port, the graphics of PC port is far behind the GameCube, and arguably also much inferior to PS2."

Tsk...people ignored the SystemShock 2 suggestion. It's strictly speaking not a zombie game but the hybrids are near enough ;)

It's truly one of the best games ever. So atmospheric and absolutely chilling.
