Goodbye Winamp :(

Poor Winamp will be no more when winamp.com closes its doors on 20th Dec 2013.

My first and still current music player, that serviced me since the mid 1990s.

MusicBee is the one to use now Been using WinAmp for years, since the early 2000s even.

I personally don't like MusicBee so I've been using Songbird

I've been using this since the beginning. It's a great music player, and I'm sorry to see it go. Pure mismanagement by AOL right from the beginning, and I'm surprised they are dumping it when it's still making $6 million a year.

ive just downloaded it just for old times sake...,

i remember running winamp with some other software (cant remember what it was called)
streaming music onto a forum i used to admin...

aaah, those were the days

(even better when you forgot you were connected, clicked a bit of pron and you had a few hundred sometimes thousand people listening to some bird going at it haha)

Sonique - it was my favourite player in ancient times before the turn of the century. Looking back, it wasn't a particularly capable player in many ways, but it had some wacky Geiger-esque alternative skins, which seemed quite radical back in the bleak Win95/98 days, and much more appealing than the Winamp boring-rectangular-box equivalent: http://customize.org/sonique

Been using it as my main media player since I was about 12 years old. Sad news. No idea what I'll use now. Nothing seems as good.
