Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022 / 2023 / 2024 / 2025

Comments of 'boring' every time an EV went past was funny :D

One of my guilty pleasures in life is reading the Pistonheads threads every year. The amount of waaaaaa from all the armchair beards on there is spectacular. These people carry on as if EVs are going to rob them of their beloved Austin Princesses, bloody fantastic :D

I managed to get there for the Saturday afternoon and it was very funny hearing some people actually 'booing' the EVs

@SDK^ Great pictures, that Aston Hypercar really is something special. A shame it's not really up to speed yet in the Hypercar series but hopefully gets there for next season.

My first visit to Goodwood FOS this year, had tickets for Saturday & Sunday as part of my birthday from the wife.
we stayed about 8 miles from the site Friday to Monday so travelling wasn't too bad.
Great couple of days, expected it to be busy & wasn't disappointed however thought it was very well run & organised.
Great to see the cars of course, missed loads on the hill as walking around the stands etc.
Would get a grandstand pass if I go again, as trying to get a good vantage point in the cheap seats was nigh on impossible.
Car needs one hell of a clean now though with all the dust!!

Yes - the dust, our clothes, shoes and cameras got covered in it !
We were parked in Car Park B6, which is the furthest away from the entrance. As we were walking back to the car I could see a Golf R doing donuts on the 'grass', with all of the dust blowing over my car. I wasn't too impressed.

Grandstands are okay for viewing and shelter from the weather, good or bad., but are the not best for taking photos and can get very busy in the afternoon.

I've found for photographs from the grandstands, the best is to stand in the back row, preferably in the most left or right seat. It's a bit high for action shots but gives the best unobstructed view.

Yes - I was in the back row in two Grandstands.

The problem is the flag poles, grandstand supports, commentary speakers and cabling get in the way.

I was there on Thursday with friends. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well - I put it down to a dodgy bacon roll; turned out I had a 2 degree temperature - and didn't hydrate myself properly on top of that, almost lost consciousness (ironically while hydrating myself), and ended up in a medical tent.

That temperature was the start of a full-blown cold which I have yet to shake off. Yes, during a heatwave. LOL.

Went for my 4th time this year, luckily managed to cover it as media so got a lot of great access and got up close with a bunch of drivers. Jake Hill, Baggsy, Mad Mike, Jonny Herbert, Ollie Bearman and more.

Here's a few images.

Didn't know there was a Goodwood thread, we went on the Thursday as usual, seemed much busier this year than past events. My pictures from the post your encounters thread below. Not as good as the ones above though. :o

Goodwood Festival of Speed yesterday, while trying not to melt I saw this lot amongst other things....

First time this year and went on the blistering hot Sunday. Enjoyed just taking it all in. Very tempted to go again next year and get a grandstand ticket for one of the days!
