So, the time is slowly coming up to replace my tyres on my ST. Size 205/40/17 W84 XL.

Searching around i cant find anywhere that still sells Eagle F1 tyres, except one place that is charging £130 per tyre, which is £40 more than last time. Fair enough its been 2 years since they went out of production, but nothing has really replaced them. From what i hear, Excellence are far from worthy replacements of the GSD3?

Driving is a little bit of everything as per normal, but i do try to get 6-8hours of trackday time a year, so would have to be good on track too.

Other tyres ive been looking at are, Dunlop SP Sport Maxx which are the control tyres in some of the BTCC support races, but is that just for advertising a average tyre? Or Going back to Pirelli P Zero Nero, which i didn't like but maybe thats because they was worn out. No sure on what else to try.

If i step up to 215/40/R17 i can get GSD3s for £96 from camskill so i might just do that, as some people are doing this on FiestaSTOC, but im not sure if that would that be ok on a 7J wheel?

So whats the best option? :(

It'll fit ok, the rim is just large enough but the GSD3 is available in the correct size so seems a bit pointless.
