Google Adwords and Adsense

I've had adsense on my site for a while, and am making about £15 a month from it.

I'm also using a price comparison system called Just Relevant which i'm making about £22 a month from.

Not mass figures, but not bad for a fairly small site getting around 15,000 unique visitors a month for doing nothing.

I've just signed up to adwords and have put a budget of £10 a month and having the budget optimizer work out how much to bid for me.

My keywords are:

4770
acer
amd
ati
benchmarks
cases
cpu
dfi
forum
game
intel
lanparty
motherboard
nvidia
pc
processor
review
video game
windows
windows 7

I run a hardware and gaming review website, so i think they are fitting?

Any other ideas on getting the most out of this? I ideally want to get clicks from adwords that turn into people who click on the adsense so im getting a fairly equal return, and then will up my budget.

Many thanks,

Andy

Ok, I don't use Adwords that much but know a little, so here's my comments (take them or leave them).

Reduce your keywords. £10 a month is nothing and will get eaten within days for even fairly rare searches.

Seriously, seriously look at your keywords. I mean, "PC"? How many people searching for PC will want to look at your site? I'm guessing 0.0001%. You may say "well, they won't click it then", which is true, but your bid is going to have to be huge to get seen, and if not it won't ever show and will just waste valuable budget anyway (the higher your budget the higher your link will be shown).

You're a review site? If so, ALL of your keywords should include the word review. And don't just have "AMD review", have "AMD Phenom 9950 review" or whatever, and link directly to the right review on your site. Quite simply, be as specific as possible. This isn't always true, but with a £10 budget I'd highly recommend it.

Also, because of your small budget, change your keywords frequently in-line with your new reviews. As soon as a new AMD chip is out and reviewed, scrap the old keyword and replace it with the new one. Same with games, motherboards, whatever else you review.

And you'll be surprised how quickly £10 will disappear. If I were you I'd put 100% of my ad profits straight back into Adwords until you're making/spending £100 a month plus (theoretically it should snowball if your keywords and ad placements are good).

I hope this helps.

Have a read about long and short tail keywords (wa s mentione dhere recently). I mean some of those keywords are so broad is scary ;)
