Google Analytics in WordPress

What is the best way to integrate GA into WP? I've set up a brand new site and trying to avoid unnecessary plugins but happy to install any plugins that are useful. I previously used Monster Insights but always reviewed the analytics in GA rather than in the plugin.

Thanks for the replies, I ended up just adding the GA code to the header to try and keep the site as bloat free as possible.
