Hi All,

I have my site with TSO Host, and have been monitoring my statistics over the last few days..

The stats that Analytics is giving me are far lower than the stats on the hosting page TSO give you.

Any idea's why this might be?

Well, I believe so..

Do you use TSO?

It's the very front page stats on the TSO version vs the Analytics Dashboard

Does every page of your website have the analytics code on? Also do you have any files that people could be downloading with a direct link so don't get tracked?

No downloadable files...

I'm using a wordpress theme, and just have the analytics code on the header.php - I thought this was included on all pages?

Lots of people have adblockers or javascript turned off.

How much lower are we talking about?

GA always reports lower stats because general server stats include all sorts of rubbish - bots etc - and many visitors have adblockers etc which could block GA :)

Personally I find GA more useful for showing the 'real' traffic to my site, and Awstats is useful for a general overview.

Well.. speaking relatively of my statistics, a fair bit lower!

I actually receive very few visits.. :(

15~ a day on TSO Host (Is this AWStats?)
3-6 a day on AG..

What you're saying makes sense though..

This.

Fair enough!

I'll follow GA then.. looks like my site is doing even worse than I thought!

Thanks all!

I'm sure we've discussed this before....your site is very specific, and great because it is specific! Just keep adding content and the visitors will come...

Also, take a look at your plugins for seo and sitemaps. XML Sitemaps is what I use and it's pretty good at keeping the major search engines informed when you make changes.
Also, take a look at the browser stats etc. and make sure your site is accessable to the visitors. One site I have has loads of IE6 users....go figure, but I try and keep them happy! But above all, keep the content coming and the post quality up!!!
