Google App Issue?

When trying to install/update the Google app from the device or web it shows as "This app is incompatible with all of your devices"

Noticed the issue when setting up a new phone yesterday, Sony Z5, and Android Wear won't launch as it needs the Google app update.

I though it was the phone but the app shows as incompatible for my four registered devices which includes a 2013 Nexus 7 and a couple of Sony tablets. I don't have any of the tablets to hand now to check as I'm at work.

Does anyone else see the same incompatible message from the Play store? The application was last updated yesterday so maybe Google have messed it up.

Edit:: There have been a number of views but no replies. Does anyone see the message as shown below when you view the Google app?

Never had that before.

Try downloading the apk manually, dependent on processor -

https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-search/google-search-5-9-29-release/

Thanks, downloaded and installed. I can now start pairing my watch.

Before your post I removed the app on my Tab and the Android Wear app failed to start with the Google app update. Just as with the Z5 it takes me to the app in Play store with the same incompatible message. The app also is no longer visible in the Play store when using an Android device, so looks like Google is fixing it.

App was updated yesterday and issue is fixed.

It's annoying when these things happen when you get a new device. Lots of time wasted thinking the device is faulty or you've missed something during setup.
