Google assistant > Gemini smart speakers.

If you use Google assistant at home you may be aware that it's "upgrading" to the newer version controlled by Gemini.

I have 5 smart speakers nest audio and 2 home displays.

It says they will begin the upgrade rollout on 1/10/25

How do you know if it's happening, can you ask it a question? Or is it a case of checking version numbers..... Urgh

I'm not really noticing anything good yet In which case I hope nothing has updated lol.

My doorbell camera (1st gen wired) is being upgraded. The Home app is updated to the new one but, when I choose the Magnifying Glass with the star beside it on the timeline it< i had to agree to a few things and then it still showing as "not ready yet and we will send you a message when Gemini is on your camera" (or words to that effect)

I automatically get the Home Premium Advanced Plan as I had the Nest Aware Plus so see how it goes.... I am very surprised with the pricing of their new cams (£129 for a wired outdoor) so I am considering getting 2-3 of them once I see some reviews. Its much lower cost than the prior gen cams but I guess that's a lot to do with the fact they have no battery option so cost saving on battery.

I already have 3x Minis, 1x display, Chromecast with Android TV and the 1st gen wired doorbell.
