I read about this on the train today, I don't know if anybody else has heard about it. It seems that Google has banned bmw.de for cheating a bit with it's keywords.
Google blogscoped said:
From what it looks like, the German websites of car maker BMW have been kicked out of the Google index. BMW.de at this time has a PageRank of 0. A search for BMW Germany, which only days ago yielded BMW.de as a top result, now doesn’t show any sign of BMW.de at all. Instead, BMW.com – BMW’s international site – is on top for this search.

More here.

That sounds pretty daft of BMW. What do you think Google would make of a site that detects the Googlebot and replaces a flash navigation bar with an exact but html equivalent?...

:$...

the best thing is that their probably going to get more publicity now theve been cought, due to all the media attention :)

They'll only get more attention from e-geeks like us, but I'm sure there are a few of us with some money to burn on a nice shiny car.
