Google Checkout....baahh!!!

What as opposed to crims racking up massive debt on a credit card?

I never leave too much in my current account anyway. What doesn't get spent, gets saved.

Well, yeah, I don't know the intricate ins and outs (though im sure someone else probably does) but if your card details did get nabbed somehow, you'll have a much easier time of rectifying it if they've loaded a credit card rather than emptying your account.

What is the difference between Visa and Visa Electron and Visa Delta?

HSBC are sending me a visa debit to replace my maestro, i didnt even ask so im guessing theyre replacing all maestros, i dont know if other banks are doing the same.

Bumping a semi-old post here, but I'm getting annoyed at the number of online retailers rejecting Maestro as payment now. This thread seems to indicate a general UK bank move to Mastercard Debit / Visa Debit, yet my bank hasn't informed me or offered to replace my Maestro yet.

I do have a credit card, but I vastly prefer the convenience of debit as it's paid off instantly and I'm never in debt.

Can I just walk into RBS and ask for a "Visa Debit" or "Mastercard Debit" version of my Servicecard to replace the Maestro? Will I get a choice? Are they much the same?

I'll bet it's not very widely used, so the cost of allowing it must exceed the fees they cream off transactions made with it. It's simple business.

No just almost all Natwest customers?

Wish it would just go through like MasterCard just as Visa Debit goes through as Visa, although wtf is Visa Electron for?
