Google Chrome "Developer Preview"

Is there any good reason to use this over safari?

So far it seems a little faster, especially if you're a heavy user of Google Apps (Gmail, Reader, Documents). Top tabs that Safari tried and then removed. :D Each tab is it's own process so if one crashes the whole browser doesn't crash, Safari has something similar to stop Flash breaking the browser.

Worth a spin anyway.

Why? I asked the question before about why people don't rate FF on the Mac but I don't remember ever seeing an answer. It works, it doesn't crash, it's reliable and I can use the extensions that I want.

/edit, sorry this is going OT.

Speed mainly. It seems sluggish, especially on any AJAX heavy site. Not sure why but I didn't like it. I used to use FF all the time on the Windows machine too, but that changed when I installed Chrome.

I don't think there's anything wrong with Firefox, I just prefer using Safari. They've both got features I wish the other would incorporate. Opera used to be the browser which had everything I need, but it seems to have fallen behind now. :(

Had anyone managed to add any custom search engines to this build? Pressing enter seems to do nothing at the moment. :(

Firefox has been slower than Safari on Mac for me forever (10.4 - 10.6). I don't know if extensions play a part in this.

Might grab this Chrome preview to replace FF as my secondary browser.

:( Bookmark manager doesn't seem to work either.

I don't understand why it's taking so long to get a full version ready for OS X and Linux.
