Google Chrome Font annoyances

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is an isolated bug for me, but sporadically, my Google Chrome font changes. Now, being the terrible font man I am, I've no idea what it changes to and what it changes from. As changing fonts doesn't seem to do anything for some reason...

Here's the example that I WANT it to be like...

** Any image wider than 1280 pixels should be linked or placed in spoiler tags **

And here's where it's playing up and looks all horrible (to me at least)

Any ideas please?

Thanks in advance! :)

Ooops, me being a tit, the images are too small!

I'll repost them shortly. :D

Edit: Redone, but i know they are big. But it shows what i mean at least! I'll take them down if it's a problem...

Could try disabling (or enabling) DirectWrite font rendering in chrome://flags

Probably not the issue, but worth trying.

I remember Google changing something with the way they displayed fonts in an update awhile back.

Nymins...

I love you! Problem solved :)

Many thanks mate!

Zefan, if you squint a bit and tilt your head, it does look different... ;):)

Played around with DirectWrite, seems worse with it on. There's something about it but the way Chrome renders font on these forums seems a bit more blurry compared to Firefox and even Internet Explorer. Are there any other settings that could affect the way Chrome renders fonts?

Yup, even tested it on my laptop which uses the Intel HD 3000. I was playing around with the default fonts on Chrome and other fonts looks fine. It's just the one used on the forums. Am I just being picky :p?

Hi guys,

Resurrecting my thread here, but Chrome is at it again.

This time there is no chrome://flags that I can enable/disable for directwrite as they removed them.

What can be done to solve this annoying issue. Font looks awful :(

What it's now looking like (slight degradation in image quality on upload):

What I want it to look like (example taken from some random guy):

I've been using Chrome for so long I've gotten use to it. There still is a difference between Chrome and Firefox on certain fonts however. Edge on the other hand renders fonts like Chrome. So I guess that makes Firefox the odd one out!
